In a surprise move in July 2009, the Canadian Government imposed new visa requirements on Mexican nationals. In order to come to Canada to visit, work or study, Mexicans must apply for and meet the requirements of a Temporary Resident Visa. For those that have hired a Temporary Foreign worker, the pool of diverse candidates has been slim. Recently, the choice has either been for Filipino, Chinese or Indian workers.
